1000 Forms of Fear

*1000 Forms of Fear* is a studio album by Australian singer-songwriter Sia, released in July 2014. The album represented a major turning point in her career, bringing her considerably greater international recognition as a solo performer after years of recording music and writing songs for other artists.

The album combines contemporary pop and electronic production with Sia’s distinctive vocal style. Across its 12 tracks, dramatic ballads appear alongside more rhythmic pop recordings, while emotionally intense songwriting remains a consistent feature of the project.

“Chandelier” became the album’s breakthrough song. Built around an increasingly powerful vocal performance, the recording contrasts an energetic pop arrangement with darker themes involving excessive partying, emotional struggle and escape.
