Phoebe Bridgers Earns First UK No.1 Album as Lost Weekend Makes Chart History

Phoebe Bridgers has achieved a major career milestone by landing her first solo UK No.1 album with Lost Weekend. The chart-topping release also gives Secretly Group its first-ever UK No.1 album during the independent music company’s 30th anniversary year.

Released through Dead Oceans, Lost Weekend debuted at the top of the Official UK Albums Chart with 34,239 chart units, according to the Official Charts Company. The total included 25,719 physical sales, 7,734 streaming-equivalent units, and 786 digital downloads. The album also claimed the No.1 spot on both the Official Vinyl Albums Chart and the Record Store Chart.

Strong Streaming and Sales Performance

Bridgers delivered one of the strongest streaming weeks of her career in the UK, placing her alongside leading streaming artists such as Olivia Rodrigo, The Weeknd, Ariana Grande, Olivia Dean, and Sienna Spiro.

The album’s popularity also earned Bridgers her first solo UK Top 40 single, with the title track Lost Weekend debuting at No.39 after recording 8,911 chart units.

Album Campaign Interrupted by Health Scare

Shortly after the album’s release, Bridgers was hospitalized with appendicitis, forcing her to cancel most of her planned UK promotional appearances. She had scheduled several intimate album launch concerts but was only able to perform one show at London’s Union Chapel before postponing the remaining dates.

Biggest UK Chart Week of Her Career

Lost Weekend marks Bridgers’ most successful opening week in the UK, both as a solo artist and as a member of Boygenius.

Her previous best came in 2023 when Boygenius debuted at No.1 with The Record, which opened with 18,869 units. Her acclaimed 2020 solo album Punisher entered the chart at No.6 with 5,484 units during its first week.

To date, The Record has accumulated more than 104,000 UK chart units, while Punisher has approached 200,000 lifetime units.

Historic Achievement for Secretly Group

The album’s success represents a landmark moment for Secretly Group, giving the company its first UK No.1 album and its largest-ever opening week in the British market. The achievement surpasses the label’s previous UK sales record, which had been held for nearly a decade by Bon Iver’s 22, A Million.

Phil Waldorf, Secretly Group’s Co-Owner and Chief Marketing Officer, praised both the artist and her dedicated fanbase.

“We are thrilled to see such a bold artistic statement reach No.1. It’s a testament to the incredible connection Phoebe has built with her audience. Fans have embraced this album in a remarkable way, and the response has exceeded our expectations.”

He also noted that the success reflects the hard work of the entire Secretly Group team, highlighting the contributions of project manager Maxie Gedge and Senior Marketing Director Ali Murphy.

Secretly Group Climbs the UK Market Share Rankings

Thanks to the strong debut of Lost Weekend, Secretly Group secured a 1.3% share of the UK’s weekly albums market, ranking No.5 among corporate music groups across physical sales, downloads, and streaming.

The company also reached No.4 in pure album sales and No.3 among record labels, led by the performance of its Dead Oceans imprint.

More Chart Success for Phoebe Bridgers

Bridgers continues to enjoy growing momentum on the UK singles chart.

Her recent single Lost Boys, which previously peaked at No.50, returned to the chart at No.69 after a 247.6% increase in weekly consumption, bringing its total UK chart units to more than 30,000.

Another album track, The Governor’s Waltz, debuted at No.53 with 7,421 units, joining Lost Weekend in the Top 100. Under Official Charts rules, primary artists are limited to three simultaneous chart entries, meaning additional album tracks were prevented from entering despite strong performance.

With Lost Weekend topping the UK Albums Chart and breaking multiple career and label records, Phoebe Bridgers has reached a new level of commercial success while delivering one of the year’s biggest independent music achievements.
